Arm Lift in Sacramento
An arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, is for individuals who want to get rid of excess skin on their upper arms that droops down. Whether it's due to age or weight loss, excess skin on the arms can make some individuals feel more reserved or self-conscious to wear short sleeves or tank tops. Arm lift surgery will remove the excess skin and fat to create smoother, more slender and defined upper arms.
Dr. Davis is committed to getting you the results you deserve and the body you want. Contact Dr. Davis or call 916-318-5770 to schedule your one-on-one consultation today!

More about Arm Lifts
During Your Consultation
During your arm lift consultation, Dr. Davis will assess your degree of sagging skin and decide on the best course of action, including how long the incision will be and the location. If excess fat is also a concern, he may recommend combining liposuction with your arm lift procedure. He will also spend time listening to any concerns you have and discuss the scars that are necessary to perform this surgery.
Technique
Prior to going into surgery, Dr. Davis will mark your arms for the arm lift and where the scar will be placed discreetly on the inner side of the arm. He will also mark any areas for liposuction which is commonly done in addition to the skin removal for the best result. Typically, an incision is made in the armpit and runs down the inside of the arm and may extend to the elbow. After the skin and fat are removed, the incision is closed with absorbable sutures.
The surgery takes around 2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
Recovery
After surgery you will be placed in compression wraps and will return to the office the next day for us to check on you. We will continue to check on you as you recover and are of course here and available any day if you have any questions or concerns.
Recovery from an arm lift takes about 2 weeks. It is important that you elevate your arms as much as possible and continue the compression wraps or sleeves to reduce swelling. You will want to take it easy those first few weeks to allow the incisions to heal. You can begin unrestricted activity at 8 weeks.

Q&A with Dr. Davis
Liposuction on the upper arms is an excellent option if the goal is to reduce the fullness of the upper arm and there is no excess loose and hanging skin. If you have skin that hangs down, then the skin must be removed to get the result that you want.
Scars are necessary to remove the excess skin and fat. I place the scar on the undersurface of the arm so that when you wear sleeveless shirts it is hidden in the best place possible. For the people that choose to have this surgery, the scars are a fair trade for having the hanging skin gone and a better shape to the upper arm.
Because the surgery is on each arm, it is always best if you have arranged a little help for yourself after surgery, especially if you have to care for others. It can also be hard to wrap up your arms with the compression wraps by yourself, so that first week a little assistance goes a long way!
