During Your Consultation
During your liposuction consultation, Dr. Davis will discuss your goals and examine your areas of concern and recommend a treatment plan making sure liposuction is right for your needs. If loose skin is also a concern, he may suggest combining your liposuction with another body contouring procedure such as a tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift or as part of a mommy makeover. You can also share and specific concerns and have all of your questions answered.
Technique
Prior to going into surgery, Dr. Davis will mark the areas of your body that are going to be treated. These marking serve as a guide in surgery to insure the best possible shape and symmetry. Tiny incisions hidden in the natural lines of your body are used to insert a wand-shaped medical device called a cannula. The cannula suctions away the targeted fat cells for a more defined shape.
Dr. Davis uses a technique called S.A.F.E. lipo which was pioneered by Dr. Simeon Wall and involves: Separation; Aspiration; Fat Equalization. This allows for the right amount of fat to be removed and result in smooth contours. The surgery takes anywhere from 1-4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

Recovery
After surgery you will be placed in a compression garment and will return to the office the next day for us to check on you. We will continue to check on you as you recover and are of course here and available any day if you have any questions or concerns.
Recovery from a liposuction is quite rapid. You’ll feel sore for a few days but will be feel good within a week. Bruising can last a few weeks. After the first week, you can gradually increase your activity level, and strenuous exercise can resume at around 4 weeks. Swelling is very normal and takes weeks to months to fully resolve.
