During Your Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Davis will discuss your goals and perform an exam to determine if a BBL is right for you. He will see if you have enough fat to take from your abdomen, back, thighs, and arms to transfer to your buttocks for you to see the results that you want.

Technique

Prior to going into surgery, Dr. Davis will mark the areas of your body where liposuction will be performed (most commonly the abdomen, waist, hips, back and thighs) and mark your buttocks outlining where the volume will be added. During surgery, S.A.F.E liposuction is performed on all the planned areas and the fat is purified. The removed fat is then transferred to the buttocks to add the desired volume and enhance the shape. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes around 2-4 hours.

Recovery

After surgery you will be placed in a compression garment and will return to the office the next day for us to check on you. We will continue to check on you as you recover and are of course here and available any day if you have any questions or concerns. Recovery from a BBL takes about 2 weeks. That first week you need to try your best to not put pressure on your buttocks. Depending on where the fat has been transferred, sometimes sitting for short amounts of time is ok. You’ll need to sleep on your stomach. Many patients are feeling quite good in 10-14 days and beginning more strenuous activity at 4 weeks.
